Meet The Team
Warner R. Durnell
Interim Pastor
Warner R. Durnell, originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania, graduated from The Lincoln University
and Columbia Theological Seminary, and also studied at The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta. Ordained in the Presbyterian Church USA on August 8, 1978, Warner's career is split between church-campus pastorates and mid-council executive roles. He has worked in Winston-Salem, NC;
Tuscaloosa, AL; Huntsville, AL; and Nashville, TN, and served on seminary boards, national boards and
committees for the Office of the General Assembly.
Warner officially retired on August 1, 2018, but he continues to serve the church by taking on part-time
interim and other short-term pastoral positions. He is now the Transitional Pastor at Harpeth
Presbyterian Church in Brentwood, Tennessee. In his free time, Warner enjoys going to Major League
Baseball games and has managed to visit every MLB team's home stadium at least once.
Warner is married to Cassandra (Sandy) Ann Walters, also formerly of West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Together they are the grateful parents of three grown children; Clarisse and Erica who reside in
Nashville, Tennessee, and Jonathan who resides in Los Angeles, California.
Among his favorite scriptures is Psalm 100:2a “Serve the Lord with gladness.”
Jeff Burnham
Music Director
Jeff Burnham is a pianist specializing in vocal music and accompanying. He has served on faculty at Vanderbilt and other local universities as pianist and vocal coach. He has accompanied the Nashville Symphony Chorus since 2015 and is a frequent rehearsal pianist for guest artists of the Nashville Symphony. With deep roots in church music and command of diverse musical styles, he fosters authentic and meaningful blended worship experiences that honor our hymn traditions and also embrace our modern sensibilities.
Jen Knotts
Office Manager
Jen is originally from South Dakota, but has lived in the Nashville area for over 20 years now. She attended Belmont University, loved being a teacher and an athletic director for years before deciding to stay at home to raise kids. Jen is married to Mike and they have four boys. She loves travel, sports, time with friends, and volunteering at her kids's schools. Jen and her family are members of Christ Presbyterian Church.
